The 1 day EFAW course is ideal for staff working in low risk environments that present very few hazards.
It Lasts 1 full day (approximately 7-8 hours)
The course content includes:
First aid regulations, Aims & Priorities of first aid, Managing an incident, DRABC(D), Minor injuries, Treatment of wounds and bleeding, treatment of an unconscious casualty, treatment for shock, treatment for seizures, treatment for choking, Recovery Position, adult CPR, AED
Employers should make an assessment of first-aid needs appropriate to the circumstances of the workplace to determine the number of staff required to be qualified in Emergency First Aid at Work. In some circumstances staff may require the 3 day First Aid at Work course depending on a number of factors such as hazards identified, staff medical conditions or number of employees to name a few.
Employers have a legal duty to ensure their employees recieve immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.
